THE
WORK.

A public page for a single submitted artwork: visible, shareable and connected to its artist and Plot.

Love as Gravity explores love as a force that shapes, connects and holds things together. The heart is constructed from repeated geometric forms that create movement and optical tension, suggesting that something apparently stable is always in transformation. A single red point acts as a centre of attraction within the composition. The work reflects on love not as a fixed symbol, but as an active force capable of changing the shape of the world around it.

02 / Creative process
Context, notes and making

The work began with the idea of translating the heart into a geometric and optical structure. I developed the image through repeated oval forms, adjusting their scale, density and direction until the composition created a sense of movement and depth. The central red point was introduced as a visual anchor and emotional focus. The final design was adapted for both the front and back of a white T-shirt, allowing the artwork to function as a wearable image and a moving surface.

Carlos Marcano is a Venezuelan-born artist based in Barcelona. His work explores geometry, movement and optical perception through laser-cut acrylic, repeated forms and precise compositions.

Influenced by Jesús Rafael Soto, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Victor Vasarely, Kinetic Art and Optical Art, he creates pieces that shift as the viewer moves. Since 2012, he has been developing a visual language where light, rhythm and geometry make static surfaces feel alive.

As a Plotter, he brings his own work into the community and helps carry the idea forward.

His art does not sit still. It makes the eye move.
